Faith Ranch and Wildlife Management
|
Stuart W. Stedman’s family
has owned the Faith Ranch since 1932. Born and raised in
Houston, Texas, Stuart is the president of the Faith Ranch
Company and has been a student of white-tailed deer since
the late 1970’s. After getting his B.A., J.D., and M.B.A.
degrees at the University of Texas at Austin, Stuart, through
his family foundation, funded a 13 year deer research program
conducted by Professor Charles DeYoung at the Caesar Kleberg
Wildlife Research Institute in Kingsville. Stuart’s keen
interest in wildlife science combined with his association
with Kleberg Institute’s deer program has put the Faith Ranch
at the cutting edge of white-tailed deer management. His
family’s foundation recently funded the Stuart W. Stedman
Chair in White-tailed Deer Research at the Caesar Kleberg
Wildlife Research Institute. Professor Charles DeYoung currently
holds this chair. Stuart is also an Advisory Director of
the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute, a director
of the Texas Wildlife Association, former Chairman the Texas
Parks and Wildlife’s Operation Game Thief Committee, and a
recipient of the Texas Wildlife Society’s Landowner Conservation
Award in 1990. |
